James Brady

James Brady, 58, of Buzzards Bay, lost his battle to cancer on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.  He was the husband of Janice M. (Duffy) Brady.

Born in Stoughton, he was the son of John and Anne Marie (Foster) Brady.  Mr. Brady moved to Buzzards Bay as a child and graduated from Upper Cape Regional Vocational Technical High School in Bourne where he played ice hockey.

Mr. Brady worked as a painter for Onset Bay Marina and MacDougalls' Cape Cod Marine Services.  He also owned his own painting business for a number of years.  He enjoyed swimming at Indian Mound Beach and fishing and boating all over.  He had a love for the ocean and shared his skills and knowledge with many.

Survivors include his wife Janice; his parents, John and Anne Marie Brady; his children, Sara Brady and Patrick Brady both of Buzzards Bay; his sisters, Kelly Westcott of Spring Lake, NC, Kate Sorsby of Tampa, FL, Karen Pastore of New Port Richey, FL and Julie Brady of Jamaica Plain, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 6 PM.  A private service will follow.  (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity.)
