Angelina Pilla

1930 ∼ 2020

Angelina (Rosati) Pilla of East Falmouth died peacefully at home on June 6th. She was 89. She was pre-deceased by her husband Antonio in 2017, to whom she had been married nearly 62 years, and her son David in 2018.

Angie was born and raised in Hopedale, MA. In 1955 she married Tony. His career in the Air Force took them to Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA, Morocco, North Africa, Otis Air Force Base, and Suffolk County Air Force Base in Westhampton Beach, Long Island NY, before settling on their beloved Cape Cod. After her husband’s retirement from the Air Force, he joined the Post Office.

Angie was a bookkeeper by trade until starting her family. Family life was always top priority and her husband and children had the utmost appreciation for her devotion to them. She also loved and was encouraged by her family to pursue her own interests. She was a fabulous cook and baker, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and needle point. She was a devoted sports mom and Brownie troop leader. She could also sculpt “Snoopy on the doghouse” in the snow during winters, which was so appropriate since the family dog was a rambunctious beagle named Snoopy!

Angie loved animals and nature. During her last years with her husband, she and Tony took great pleasure in watching and feeding the squirrels, rabbits and birds from their den window. She would often say, “I like some animals better than people!”

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Pilla of Mashpee, grandson Kyler Pilla of Wilmot, NH, and many friends and relatives.

Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers, neighbors, friends, and Lori’s “piano” families who have been so helpful during Angie’s decline in health, particularly Marcey Dehnick, Patricia Cosgrove, Mary Ann Speca, Harold Byrd, Rodney Byrd, Dr. Jeanne Mase and Lori Fontes.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to VNA Hospice of Cape Cod ( or a charity of your choice.
