Royal H. Dieter passed away suddenly on January 9th at the age of 69. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Partner and Friend.
Roy was born on January 24th, 1951 in Rochester, New York. He was the son of Royal E. Dieter and Henrietta G. Brailey Dieter.
His family later relocated to San Diego, California, where Roy and his brother Larry, grew up. Roy graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1970, and later attended Grossmont College.
As a young man, Roy moved to Kodiak, Alaska where he became an Alaskan King Crab fisherman. He would fondly tell stories of his adventures at sea. He later relocated to the Cape with his family where he owned and operated Royal Diamond Pools for 25 years. He was a popular figure amongst the community. Roy was a great friend and loved by many, and never hesitated to lend a hand to a person in need. No matter the task, if you called Roy, he would be there with a smile.
Roy had a passion for motorcycles. In the warmer months, you could often find Roy joyfully riding his Harley Davidson, blaring his favorite tune. Roy also had an affinity for tattoos and accumulated a nice collection over the years. He had a captivating smile and a voice that you could hear across the room. When you were around him you couldn’t help but have a good time. Roy also had a deep love for his children and was a source of inspiration in their lives. His strong work ethic and positive attitude are both traits that his children carry in his honor.
Roy is survived by his daughter Tiffaney Dieter of East Falmouth; his son David Dieter of Denver Colorado; his daughter Linda Dieter of East Freetown MA; and Gianni Dieter of East Falmouth; his brother Larry Dieter; his grandchildren Daisha Pena, Aubrey Lawson, Jon Dieter, and Cory Gaspar; his former wife Sue Dieter; and his partner Jacquelyn Ferreira.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 16th in the St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy. (Route 28 ) East Falmouth.
