Richard (Dick) Harry Philip Lersch, 81, of South Yarmouth, MA passed away on December 31st, 2020.
Dick was born in Red Wing, MN on March 27, 1939. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1957 and had a long career as an electrical engineer for Mc Donnell Douglas Aircraft in St louis, MO.
Dick is survived by the love of his life, Ramona, his wife of 36 years. Dick is also survived by brother Robert Lersch of East Stroudsburg, PA and sister Beverly Longsdorf of Holyoke, MN. Dick was a loving father to his daughters Christine (Randie) Spaulding of Sandwich. MA, Kathryn (Jeff) VanScoy of Madison, AL, and Kirsten (Allen) Bannit of Cannon Falls, MN and his sons Kevin (Anne) Lersch of St. Charles, MO, Keenan (Amanda) Lersch of St. Paul, MO, and Eric (Susan) Duden of Poughkeepsie, NY. Dick is also survived by his 10 grandchildren Adam, Zachary, Matthew, Elizabeth, Emily, Gabriel, Caleb, Caitlin, Maria, and Sam, and 1 great grandchild Marley. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Werner and Elsie Mae Lersch as well as his sister Nancy and grandsons Nicholas and Anthony.
Dick was a man of absolute grace and character who valued his faith in Jesus Christ above all else with his family being a close second. Dick could fix and build almost anything and was never at a loss for a project. Dick was a highly regarded member of the Brewster Baptist Church in Brewster, MA. While saddened by his loss, his family and friends are comforted to know he is at peace with the Lord.
A celebration of Dick’s life will take place at Brewster Baptist Church when it is safe to do so.
