RADM John L. Linnon, USCG (Ret.)

Rear Admiral John L. Linnon, US Coast Guard (Ret.), age 84, passed away on June 15, 2020.

A native of Hartford, CT, he retired to East Falmouth in 1997 after a 40 year career in the United States Coast Guard. During that career, in addition to several assignments ashore, he served in seven ships, commanding three. His last assignment was as Commander, First Coast Guard District headquartered in Boston where he had oversight of all Coast Guard operations in New England, New York State, and a portion of the New Jersey coast.

He leaves his former wife, Beth Linnon of East Falmouth, a brother, Michael of Kensington, CT, a son, Richard of Newington CT, two daughters, Susan of Mobile AL and Peggy Bourque of Farmington NH, as well as five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

No services are planned. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and his remains interred at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
