Nancy Jean Glynn

Nancy Jean Glynn

Nancy J. Glynn passed away on February 5, 2021 in Falmouth, Massachusetts with family by her side.  Nancy was a source of love, strength and support for her entire family, which she gave unconditionally and without hesitation to all of those around her for 88 years.  Her beauty and deep blue eyes were only outshined by the beauty within her heart and soul.  Nancy’s endless gifts of love, devotion and unwavering positivity contributed to and enriched the lives of her family and friends in a way that cannot be overstated.

Born Nancy Jean Monson on October 20, 1932, she was raised with her loving brother, Ted, in Chelsea, Massachusetts by her parents Edwin & Lilian.  After graduating high school, Nancy worked for several years in the John Hancock Building in Boston, where, on one day, she received a kiss on the cheek from a visiting JFK who was a U.S. Senator at the time.   It was around this time that Lawrence R. Glynn was lucky enough to meet her and convince her to marry him.  They married on the day of a blizzard and spent 62 years together.  Always by each other’s side, Nancy’s journey with Larry brought them 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.  Living first in Arlington and then in Lexington, they finally settling down on Cape Cod over 20 years ago.  Her love and devotion to family was evident in everything she did.  In addition to raising her children, she was instrumental to her husband’s pursuits to obtain his law degree and establish a law practice, where she worked for decades.  She would also work at Data Technology, Inc. in Wakefield until retiring in 1997.

Nancy was a proud mother of Patricia, Lawrence, Joanne, Roberta and John Matthew. They can attest to her tireless energy and love for family.  She made the holidays special and tough times bearable through her calm demeanor and gentle smile. Nancy will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
