Linda Lee LeGeyt, 77, of Harwich died peacefully on July 2, 2020 at home with family present.
Linda was born to John and Doris Macfarland on July 21, 1942 in Sherborn Ma. She was a graduate of Medway High School and after raising her six children she returned to college. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wellesley College with degrees in Anthropology and Religion. While attending Wellesley College she worked for the Dean of Religious Life and managed the logistics for an international peace conference.
She had a long career managing resort hotels on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the Berkshires. In this capacity she hosted the air shows for both The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels and served as a member of the Otis Advisory Council. She had also been a member of the Falmouth and Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and volunteered for many years on the March of Dimes Telethons.
She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and confidant to so many. She always had a listening ear and a calming demeanor. She loved all manner of life and lived in the moment. She was fearless, always doing what needed to be done while still thinking of others and their needs. She had a great sense of humor and artistic eye especially when it came to rehabbing her homes. She had numerous cats through the years that she had rescued. She loved the simple things in life: wildflowers, the beach, the birds and little critters that came into her yard to say hello. Her simple presence will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her children, Robert Kinnear of Danville Kentucky, Laura Armenti and husband Jack of South Dennis MA, Sheila Cain and husband Mike of Falmouth MA, Deborah McDonough of Falmouth MA, Jennifer Ross of Hyannis MA and Richard Bozora and wife Michelle of Pawtucket RI. She is also survived by her sisters, Marcia Dove and husband Bill of Milton FL, Bonnie Coutu of Centerville MA, Janet Silloway and husband Bud of Naples FL and Jill Steinwedel and husband Tim of North Norcross GA, and numerous greatly loved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by her is her partner and love Charles Pitts of Wareham MA and many dear friends.
Linda was diagnosed with terminal cancer in December of 2019. She managed this like she managed everything in her life with grace and strength. She spoke of her passing as just another move in her journey through life.
