Jean S. (Denton) Roffe, 84, of Middleboro, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 under the care of her loving family and hospice after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Walter A. Roffe.
Born August 16, 1935 in Brockton, MA, Jean was a daughter of the late George Denton and Mildred A. (Levy) Denton. Jean was a graduate of Bridgewater Raynham High School Class of 1953. She worked in the cafeteria at the Hoxie School in Sagamore Beach for many years.
Family was the most important thing to Jean. Some of her hobbies were cooking, gardening, and traveling. Winters were spent in Florida. She always attended her grandchildren’s soccer games, concerts and horse shows cheering them on.
Jean lived at the beach for 47 years. She spent countless hours there with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
She is survived by her brother, George Denton of Brockton; her children, Thomas Flynn and his wife Candace of Middleboro, and Daniel Flynn of Plymouth; her grandchildren, Christopher Flynn and his wife Holly of Taunton, Ashley Hanson of Lakeville, Bridget Anderson and her husband Martin of Avon, Erin Flynn of Wareham, Daniel Flynn of New Hampshire and Nathan Lamere of Middleboro; her great-grandchildren, Gwen, William, Charlotte and James. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
All are cordially invited to the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Thursday, June 18th for visiting hours with Covid-19 phase 2 restrictions from 9:30AM-10:30AM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater Thursday at 11:00AM. Interment to follow in Scotland Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the May Institute Philanthropy Office, 41 Pacella Park Drive, Randolph, MA 02368.
