Irma D. Lupo, longtime resident of Waquoit & Falmouth passed away peacefully on August 29, 2020 at the age of 95 while residing at Royal Megansett Nursing & Retirement Center.
Born in Boston, Irma was the daughter of Evelyn & Paul Savery of Weymouth & Norwell, both deceased. She also had three siblings: Paul Savery, Robert Savery & Joan Sadler, all deceased.
Irma graduated from Weymouth High School in 1943 and attended Katherine Gibbs Business School in Boston. She married James McHardie in 1946 in South Weymouth & moved to Waquoit in 1947.
Irma was a member of Junior Outlook and Child Study Club while raising her children. She also was a Cub Scout, Brownie & Girl Scout Leader during those times.
In 1964, she married Dominic Lupo now deceased, and in 1981 moved to Florida for 20 years. Before moving to Florida, Irma worked for the Falmouth Cooperative Bank on Main Street for 7 years, then for Falmouth Marine Yacht Brokerage for 15 years.
After returning from Florida, Irma volunteered at the Children’s Museum in Mashpee. She absolutely loved her Children & their Families, often saying that they brought her the happiest times of her life. She also loved music & The Boston Red Sox.
Irma leaves her three children: James P. McHardie of Falmouth, Sandra McHardie Collette of Virginia & Florida and Nancy McHardie Hazelton of Falmouth. She also leaves six Grandchildren: Jennifer Hardin & Julie McHardie of Falmouth, Joseph Hazelton of Falmouth, Beth Fisher of Maryland, Jon Hubler of South Carolina & James Hubler of California, along with ten Great Grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Irma was a member of the Waquoit Congregational Church & in her later years, volunteered at the Church Thrift Shop.

Services will be held on Monday, September 28 at 12:30PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA 02542.
