Hilda (Valadao) Sousa

Hilda (Valadao) Sousa, age 89, peacefully passed away on February 14, 2021 at her daughter's home in Mashpee.

Born in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Valadao, Sr. and Maria Valadao.

Hilda is survived by her living children: Richard Cordeiro and wife Karen of Taunton; Norma Blake and husband Richard of Falmouth; John Cordeiro of Taunton; and Kelley Hendricks and husband Robert of Mashpee. She also leaves brothers: Manuel Valadao, Sr. of Falmouth; Joseph Costa and wife Shirley of Falmouth; and Nemesio Bettencourt and wife Virginia of Taunton. She leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Hilda was the sister of the late John Valadao of Raynham and the late Mary Souto of Attleboro and she was the grandmother to the late Jarred Cordeiro of Taunton.

Hilda enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, knitting, making bibs for newborn babies at Falmouth Hospital and spending time with her family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy, East Falmouth on Friday, February 26th at 10AM.  Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
