George W. Stoddard

George W. Stoddard age 65 of Rockland, MA passed away peacefully on July 18, 2020 in the Brockton Hospital. George was born in Brockton, MA, son of the late Dorothy Mae (Simpson) and George W. Stoddard and was raised and educated in Hanover, MA.  George had been living in Rockland the past 20 years where he moved from Hanson, MA.                            .

George was a loving and protective father who worked long and hard as a carpenter/contractor but always came home to his family at night. He would always help all those who asked.  He really loved Cape Cod and would often reminisce about his yearly family vacations at Herring Run. He really loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Nothing made him happier than bringing joy and smiles to his children's faces. He also encouraged his children to participate in sports, music and theater.  George loved to cook for himself and others.   He also enjoyed his politics and coming up with his newest inventions. He was an avid collector of sports cards and memorabilia, classic movies, and music.  He loved and protected animals whenever he could and enjoyed spending time with his ferret “Twinkie” and his cats “Prince” and “Ormange.”

He is survived by his four children Kyle Stoddard of Bridgewater, MA, Paul Stoddard of Buckeye, AZ, Jennifer Barton of Salt Lake City, UT and Craig Stoddard of Monponsett, MA and their mother, Beverly Stoddard, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by five siblings Cheryle Michaels of Wareham, Dorothy MacDermid of Rockland, MA, Donna Kieffer of Kansas City, MO, Angel King and Robert Stoddard of FL.
