Barry L. Hall

Barry Layton Hall of Falmouth, MA passed away unexpectedly at Cape Cod Hospital on January 1, 2021 at the age of 69.  He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and is already dearly missed by his family and friends.

Barry was born in Brockton, MA to George and Cynthia Hall.  After graduating from Brockton High School in 1969 he attended Coyne Electrical School and became a master electrician.  Barry was the owner of Harborlight Electric for many years before becoming the Electrical Inspector for the Town of Falmouth.  He continued on to work as an electrician with the Steamship Authority for 20 years before retiring to focus on his health and family.  During his retirement, Barry was a dedicated volunteer at the Falmouth Service Center and particularly enjoyed his many hours spent helping out at the Joint Base Cape Cod food pantry and the Hand in Hand Thrift Store.

Barry was married to the love of his life Donna for 45 years.  Together they raised their family in Plymouth, MA before moving to Falmouth, MA where they enjoyed living by the ocean for the last 15 years.

Barry had a way of making friends wherever he went.  He was always quick to lend a hand installing a light or switch for family and friends.  He was a skilled woodworker and a recreational golfer, who always cared more about who he was playing with than his score.

Barry was visibly the happiest when he was with his family.  He was affectionately known as “Paw” to his grandchildren, and adored spending as much time with them as he could.  Some treasured memories for him included family trips to Disney World, vacations on Marco Island and skiing in New Hampshire.  He cherished his times on Cape Cod beginning in his youth where he met his wife.  Barry always lit up as he told countless stories of those days on the Cape with family and lifelong friends. More recently, those special times on the Cape were spent playing on the beaches with his family.

Barry is survived by his loving wife Donna (Carroll) Hall, his daughter Amanda Huffman and her husband Blaine, his son Matthew Hall and his wife Kimberly and his three grandchildren Connor, Andrew and Brooke.  Barry is also survived by his siblings Bette Rowley and her husband Larry, Barbara Libby and her longtime companion Bob, Bruce Hall and his wife Eileen, Brenda Larsen and her longtime companion Fred, his sister-in-law Gerrie (Carroll) Macrina and her husband Vinny, and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth, MA on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00am.

A celebration of his life will be held later this year.
