West Barnstable

Darren Sean Mahoney, 45, died at Cape Cod Hospital on July 17, 2012. He was the beloved son of Bernice (Grana) Mahoney and Donald Mahoney of West Barnstable.

Born and raised in Natick, he was a 1984 graduate of Natick High School. A resident of West Barnstable, he had formerly resided in Sanibel, Florida. Darren was a Master Carpenter and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, boating and his favorite beach, Mayflower, in Dennis. He was a cheerful, generous person who enjoyed the company of many friends.

In addition to his parents, Darren leaves a brother Donald Mahoney of Natick and three sisters, Denise Mahoney Joyal of Boston, Donna Mahoney of Yarmouth Port and Doreen Austin and her husband Steven of Bass River. He also leaves an aunt, Judith Gentili, seven nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Ceaser.

Visitation will take place on Saturday July 21, beginning at 9am at the Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main, Street Centerville, MA.
