Theresa Baratta

East Sandwich

Theresa V. (Pacevicz) Baratta, 91, died on May 23, 2012 at the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Baratta and daughter of the late Victor and Apolina Pacevicz.

She worked as accounts payable manager at Baratta Advertising, The Lawn Company and Packaging Industries. In her retirement she worked closely with her daughter Dona at her restaurant, Breaking Grounds in Osterville for many wonderful years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and knitting and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Assumption in Osterville. Nana was happiest surrounded by her family and sharing a home cooked meal. She was ever devoted to her grandchildren; loves of her life.

Theresa is survived by daughters, Cynthia and her husband Joe Flatley of Cambridge and Dona and her husband Philip Denesha of Yarmouthport. She also leaves three granddaughters, Alexandra Flatley of Cambridge, Michaela Flatley of Cambridge, Susan Baltrus of Wellesley and four great grandchildren, Lauren, Sam, and Jillian Baltrus and Michael Goretti. She was predeceased by her husband, Mario Baratta, a son, Robert Goretti and grandson, Stephen Goretti as well as three sisters and two brothers. [She was also predeceased by her husband, Henry Goretti, who was killed in the second World War.]

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 1, from 5 – 7pm at the Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Dr., South Yarmouth. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 2, at 10am at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Wianno Ave., Osterville, MA. Burial will follow at Sandwich Town Cemetery.

Theresa’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the caregivers at Leonard Florence Center for Living, for their compassion and loving care during the past year.
